This was my fifth gig in De School, but the first time playing at Het Weekend. I was going to open the basement from 16:00-18:30 and wanted to do a quick soundcheck before my set. Usually the dance floor would be closed to the guests until the soundcheck was finished, but it was so busy in Het Muzieklokaal that the staff decided to open up the basement already. People were coming down to get a drink at the bar downstairs and they were already heading to the dance floor. But the lights were still on, the smoke machines were still off and I was still sound-checking. But then people started dancing, while they seemed super confused by the bright lights in the club. It was so funny to see. After the soundcheck the lights were turned off and the dance floor filled up really quickly. When I finished my set, Jephta took over with a beautiful hybrid live set. He really killed it!
