The closing weekend..A very emotional weekend for us al. I was not only playing a final set, I was also processing the past 7 years of my life in which De School played a big role.

I couldn’t think during my set, everything had to go naturally based on feelings. I even forgot about my ‘breaky’ file (which is 1/4 of the files I prepared for that set). So I was trying to find broken beats or tracks with bigger breaks in my other files, kind of confused that I couldn’t find that much. Lol, so funny how that happens. But it had to go like that I guess, because it was my most beautiful dj experience so far. The crowd was so involved in every step I took. I saw it, and it touched me so. I almost had to cry, but really wanted to finish my set first.

We all have different experiences closing off time, so I'll just share mine. During my set, I couldn't think anymore for 3 hours, but I was feeling so much processing the past 7 years. Saying goodbye to a dance floor on which I grieved my brother in my late teens, found love at and laughed my ass off, uncountable amounts of times. Because of De School - us, the unique combination of people and music coming together there - the hardest days in my life became the best ones as well (such a contrast reality can be).

Opened with Samira Said after KI/KI, played an atoms for peace track I always wanted to play if I would be a dj, and played one of my fav tracks from when I was a bedroom dj. Playing a set like Saturday's makes me realize again what it is we're doing and how much I enjoy talking without words. Overwhelmed by your reactions. We really narrated that together. More than thankful to have been part of de school as a raver and dj. To have experienced a special place like this in the real time itself. Het Einde was beautiful. <3
