De Club

Quote from the artist(s):

I thought the 26th of November was going to be my last gig at De School, but to my great surprise, I was asked to play the closing set at the last club night ever! Jasper Wolff & Maarten Mittendorff were opening and Speedy J was playing after them before I took over. It was a huge honor and it felt like a big responsibility of course, knowing that for a lot of visitors, it would be their last time dancing in De School. This gig was a rollercoaster of emotions for me, also because I had been ill that week and was still not completely well. But it was such a nice chance to say goodbye to that magical booth for the very last time. I was asked to finish my set around 8am, so I played my sentimental closing track (Breaker 1 2 - 2) and went into the crowd to enjoy the last moment together with my friends. They were crying and of course I was in tears too. Then they joined me in the DJ booth for the last few minutes, it was so wholesome and cute. When my final track stopped, I was suddenly asked if I wanted to go on until 9am, because it was still really busy and the vibe on the dance floor was really good. It took me a minute to get used to the idea, but of course I wanted to go for it! That last hour really felt like a bonus, and I played all the tracks that I wanted to hear on that sound system one last time. We went went on until 9.15am! I’m really gonna miss this place!
